Good news

Good news for me. Both of my classes for the fall semester have at least 10 students registered--so neither will be canceled for low enrollment.
Sometimes I think that I have OCD--I check the school web site several times a day to see how my enrollment is going. Now I will start writing my syllabus. I have two new text books books, so it will take me some time to set up up. A nice activity for August--I'll fit it in between choosing wall colors and dealing with a kitchen remodeling.

Sox Win!

My husband and I went to a White Sox game on Saturday. It was the first time I have been to the Cell since it's been the Cell. The Sox won, it rained a little bit, I drank a beer and ate a brat. We had a good time. One observation--many more people wear Sox apparel than they used to. There was a large assortment of vintage tee shirts, with players of the past on the back. Most of them though, had the present guy's names. WE sat almost in heaven, but we had a very good view.
On Friday, I finally went to see the new Modern wing of the Art Institute of Chicago. It is spectacular--and if you are in the area, you must see it. Don't miss the Cy Twombley show.
The past few weeks have been consumes with the flowers for a friend's daughter's wedding. Then, in my idiocy, I volunteered to have the post wedding brunch at my house. I want you to know that I survived. However, I was very tired. The flowers were successful as was the brunch.

What I did yesterday

What a dumb title for an entry. I've been straightening up all day, so my creativity just ran out. I did have a great weekend. On the 4th, we went to a party and them to see the firework in Winnetka. Not a huge crowd like in Wilmette or Evanston. Just a park full of families, recorded music. The fireworks were spectacular.
Yesterday, my husband and I went downtown to see Jersey Boys. I've been working on him to go for a while, and finally he agreed. I thoroughly enjoyed it. All those songs of high school and college in one show! If you haven't seen it yet, be sure to go, it's well worth the time and cost. We also saw a scale model of downtown Chicago at the Archicenter--on Michigan Ave. Very interesting. Then we had a nice dinner in an Italian restaurant. A good time was had by all.
